Ingredients To Make Air Fryer Alaskan Halibut
With fishing season here and halibut in season, our family loves using fresh Alaskan halibut for this go-to recipe! If using frozen halibut, make sure to thaw in advance.
Recipe makes: 4 hearty servings | Prep Time: 15-20 min | Cook Time: 12-15 min
- 4 Alaska halibut fillets
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (we also like to use smoked paprika too!)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (our favorite is from Alaska Salt Co.)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- Cooking spray
How To Make Air Fryer Alaskan Halibut:
1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
2. Rinse the halibut fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut them into serving sizes as needed.
3. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
4. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
5. In a third shallow dish, place the Panko breadcrumbs.
6. Dip each halibut fillet into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
7. Next, dip the fillet into the beaten eggs and let any excess drip off.
8. Finally, coat the fillet in the Panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
9. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
10. Add the breaded halibut fillets to the air fryer basket. Make sure that they are not touching each other.
11. Spray the breaded halibut fillets with cooking spray.
12. Air fry the halibut fillets for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and flaky and cooked through on the inside.
13. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce and garnish with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.

Easy Tips:
- When halibut is cooked all the way, it begins to flake. Once you notice this happening, simply remove from heat and allow to cool.
- We often cut our halibut into strips or chunks and toss them in seasoning prior to cooking.
- When making a slaw topping, I like using packaged coleslaw when I am pressed for time, instead of chopping cabbage!
Fun Toppings:
- Warm tortillas (we really love the flour street taco tortillas for this recipe!)
- Shredded cabbage
- Avocado slices or guac
- Chopped cilantro
- Top with signature garlic aioli sauce
- Don't forget the lime wedges!

How To Make Our Signature Garlic Aioli:
This is the super easy part and well worth it! Just add everything together and mix well! Chill if you’re making ahead of time or use immediately. We prefer using a small food processor. This helps to make sure it’s blended well.
